Happy Birthday, My Love!

Somebody very special to me is having a birthday this week! I am posting this a few days early because I believe in having a birthday week, as opposed to only one day of recognition!

On Tuesday the love of my life will be celebrating his birthday. Not only does he have a birthday this week, but this is also the week in which he is finishing college and graduating!

He has worked full time (and often times OVERTIME) while successfully balancing a full load of schoolwork! He will be the first in his family to graduate from college. I have the highest respect and appreciation for him.

I am so very proud of Shaun!! He is such a hard worker, devoted husband, committed father, amazing provider, incredible protector, and passionate follower of Christ. My list could go on and on :-)

Shaun and I hadn't even met each other five years ago. But it seems to me like our hearts go way back together. He is definitely God's man for me. He is God's hands and feet in my life, showing me more of God's character by the way that he loves me. I experience God's compassion and gentleness through Shaun's pursuit of me, as well as his pursuit of David.

This baby picture of Shaun is the youngest picture I have seen of him. I definitely see how David resembles his father! When I look at this picture (as well as David) I smile because I get a glimpse of what Shaun was like as a child. It just warms my heart!

Ever since I have known Shaun, he has had a passion for youth group. That passion is one of the traits that attracted me to him before we started dating. He cares about children and teens, takes time to listen to them, and wants to be a role model for them. I find that SO honorable. He also has a teachable heart and wants to be around like-minded guys who share his same values!

I greatly enjoy watching Shaun interact with David. I am especially delighted when I see Shaun get on the floor with David for tummy time, and also sing Twist and Shout while helping David "dance." I appreciate how Shaun helps me with feedings, diaper changes, and cooking. After a full day of work and waking up at 4:30 am to do schoolwork most days, he still has the energy and willingness to lend a hand.

I am proud and attracted to the man he is, and I hope and pray that David follows in his Daddy's footsteps and grows up to be like him!

Love it. Congrats Shaun and HAPPY BIRTHDAY. The world could use more Christian men like you. Keep shedding your light upon the world one child at a time. Rachel and David are lucky to have you.
