Luke 2:19 "But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart."
I have been reflecting alot this week about our sweet little David. I can not wrap my mind around the fact that he is turning 1 year old tomorrow. It seems like we were just bringing him home from the hospital. The time sure has flown by fast! It is bittersweet. I am looking back through photos, recalling memories, and looking at milestones from the past 12 months. I can relate to Mary as she pondered many thoughts about her son. It is indeed treasure...because every good and perfect gift is from above.
Here are some of the special memories that have come to mind, but there are still much much more...
Finding out that we were going to have a BOY, and then choosing the name David Mark since it means "Beloved Warrior."
Shortly after David was born, he clasped his hands together in a "praying" position and was very calm as the nurses tended to him.
For David's 1st Christmas we placed him in his stocking and took a picture of him. He was the perfect little stocking stuffer!
David has always been a very content baby. He slept through the night by the time he was 5 weeks old, he easily adjusted to the church nursery by 2 months, he has always been a great eater, and he is an excellent traveler...receiving compliments from total strangers on airplane rides!
I remember the first time David focused on a toy and reached his hand out to "bat" at it. From then on he started to explore and discover the world around him.
Once David realized he was mobile he became very determined to learn to crawl, stand, and then walk. He sure is a fast learner!
His first vacation at 7 months was to Colorado Springs. We took him to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo and he got to feed a giraffe, hold a bird on his hand, and pet various other furry friends. He was so gentle with the animals.
David is such a camera hog...he smiles (or gives us irresistable "puppy dog eyes") everytime the camera is in front of him :) I LOVE taking pictures of him!
David is also fascinated with mirrors. He smiles and grins at himself :)

One of his favorite toys is his yellow ball...it somehow makes its way into alot of pictures! He's always so proud of it and says "baw"...but we aren't sure that he knows it is a ball yet.

Bathtime is something that David always looks forward to! Even when there is no water in the tub he stand at the edge of the tub, bounces, and raises his voice so I can see that he wants to get in. He loves the water and cries whenever I start to drain the water out of the tub :(
