SIX

This month our precious David celebrated his 6th birthday!! I am so proud of how he has grown this past year.

He started Kindergarten at Mrs. Elliott's school and has thrived in her class. He has been reading so many books and blazing through whatever we get from the library :-) He's been learning so much through school, Homeschool Art & PE at the YMCA, BSF, church, and at home. I pray that he always has the passion to learn new things and discover how things work. Above all, I am so thankful that he wants to know more about God and understand the Bible!

This past week we combined the boys' bedrooms, so now they share a room. They have such a brotherly love for each other, which is a huge blessing! David is a leader and wants to set a good example for James and his friends. He's very structured and organized. We see him becoming self-disciplined and responsible.

David LOVES Legos, Star Wars, Hot Wheels, reading, playing in dirt, climbing, and "working out" like Daddy does!

Some highlights of this past year include:

      - Going to Dallas to see Shaun's twin brother Chris, his wife Kristy, and their son (the boys' cousin)                  Luke! We went to Legoland, hiking, and the aquarium with them.

      - A summer full of swim lessons, preschool summer camps, swimming, learning to bowl, and seeing his           cousin Lera

      - Getting a pet hamster named Chewbacca

      - As stated earlier, David started Kindergarten at Mrs. Elliott's school

      - Going camping for the first time and hiking at Inks Lake

Some funny things David has said this year:

       - Before David's first day of school I asked what he looked forward to the most! He said playing                     outside (recess)!!

       - David's fingernails were getting long and he said "it's been 1500 months since we trimmed my nails."

       - The boys hear and remember advertising slogans and incorporate them into their playtime and                       conversations. They have quoted "Thanks, custom ink" and "Oasis legal finance" and "Toyota, let's go           places."

What a special year this has been! The time is flying by so fast, but I am thankful for the blessings that God has given our family. David is an absolute joy! I pray that he will grow to be a man after God's own heart, as King David was in the Bible.
