Happy Father's-To-Be Day

A little over three years ago I had gone to a movie night while I was a member of Wayside's singles group The Call. Shaun happened to be there too, although we were not dating at the time. Something touched my heart that night, and for the first time I "noticed" Shaun.

We were all watching Lord of the Rings in the Fellowship Hall. At one point I saw Shaun lying on his back on the floor and hoisting little Libby Johnson up in the air. My heart melted and I thought to myself, "He'll be a great dad someday." From this point on he had my attention. Little did I know that in just over a year we would be married!

Everyone who knows Shaun knows he loves children. It doesn't take long before he is on the floor playing with them, making funny faces, putting them on his shoulders, or tickling them. I absolutely love this side of him. I have enjoyed watching Shaun interact with our friends' children.

Now that we are expecting a baby, it seems even more real to watch him play with children. It gives me a picture of what our lives are going to be like in just a few months! I am blessed to have a loving husband who is excited about his role as a father. I can't wait for him to meet his first child!

What a sweet story! The same kind of thing happened with Todd and I at the church picnic that happened right after our first date - I saw him playing with some kiddoes and right then and there, completely fell in love.

How exciting that you get to enjoy watching him play with your own children soon! (o:
