Time for a Post

I'm well overdue for a blog post. It's been almost 2 months since I updated pictures! Needless to say...we have had ALOT happen since then :) It's hard for me to recall everything that has happened, but I will post some of the bigger happenings!

We had been looking for a new home for our 2 dogs since October. On the day that David turned 1 year old, a sweet family adopted both dogs. Although the dogs brought us great joy, it was almost impossible to give them the attention/discipline they needed since David was born. The dogs' adoption was perfect timing since we had just found out that we were expecting baby #2.

This pregnancy has been very difficult for me and I have felt bad nearly every day. It is still such a priviledge to be at home and care for David. I have learned to rest more and ask for help when needed. Shaun has been amazing...he has done alot of the cooking, cleaning, laundry, and grocery shopping. I am due August 20th and am currently 14.5 weeks along in the pregnancy. The days seem long, but the weeks have flown by. It's hard to believe that we will be finding out the gender of baby #2 next month!

David has grown so much recently! He is a fast learner and can understand most of what we tell him even though he can't say it. He walks to the kitchen when we ask if he is hungry. He walks to the bathroom and closes the door when we say it is time for a bath. He has "hidden" snacks for himself and saved them for when he wants them. We are amazed at his memory and comprehension.

David is continuing to cut alot of teeth. They seem to appear overnight sometimes! David LOVES to talk...even if it doesn't make sense to us! He says things with such confidence and authority...if only we knew what he was trying to communicate :) He says "Da" or "Ga" when he hears Shaun beep the car alarm before walking in the house after work. He also tries to mimic words and phrases we say...sometimes he is very close!

David has never taken to a security blanket or favorite stuffed animal. He does however find his Daddy's clothes and carries them around for a few hours at a time. In the picture below he is holding one of Shaun's t-shirts :)

David is quite the explorer! He loves crawling under the furniture and pushing chairs and the ottoman around. Thanks to the wood floors he can get a pretty good distance...sometimes we find the ottoman at the end of the hallway!

David and Shaun have started wrestling on the floor. It is so much fun to watch. David gets so excited and tries to take his daddy out :)
