Parent Child Dedication

This weekend we had the honor and privilege of participating in Grace Point's "Parent Child Dedication" service. We dedicated both David and James alongside 30 other couples who were doing the same with their children.

When we signed up to participate we were given some "homework" to prepare before the dedication. We were encouraged to think about the men who our boys will become and to write down the kind of person that we would like them to be when they grow up and leave our home.

This process was more about us as parents focusing on laying a firm foundation in our home and steering our children towards salvation. We felt so encouraged during this special ceremony. The church really put a lot of work into the evening and made it a memorable time for everyone involved!

While we were on stage David held up the baby Bible that they'd given him and kept saying "see my book" and "look my book." He was SO proud and had no stage fright :)

David and James bring us great joy...even on difficult days of parenting. Our hope is that we model the life of Christ to them in the coming years, and that they grow into men who will love the Lord at an early age.

What a sweet morning that must have been, especially that your boys were dedicated together!
