Jesse Tree

Isaiah 11:1: "A shoot will spring forth from the stump of Jesse, and a branch out of his roots."

This past year I have been collecting and making ornaments for our Jesse Tree advent calendar. I love the concept of teaching Jesus' lineage in the form of a daily advent story. Each night David asks when we're going to read about Jesus' "happy birthday!" Some symbols have rather lengthy passages to read, but it helps David to see an ornament that represents each topic/character. I'm looking forward to making this a yearly tradition so that our boys will grow up knowing these truths about Jesus!

I had intended to post a picture each day of the symbol as well as the passage of Scripture, but I will wait until we are completely done with the tree :-)
